Jolayne Denise Tweedie (nee Myers) passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022, after fighting a fearless battle against breast cancer for four years.
Jolayne was born on August 1, 1966 to parents Gail and Barbara Myers in Calgary, Alberta. As the eldest of three girls, Jolayne was kind and tender hearted, but also one to take charge. She attended Alberta Bible College after high school. She married her soulmate, Greg Tweedie in 1986, and was married for 36 years. She obtained a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Calgary and was a teacher of the deaf with the Calgary Board of Education until the birth of her first child in 1994.
Her greatest adventure was living abroad in many countries and devoting her talents to the raising of her six children, Jolisa, Josiah, Jayden, Joshua, Jesse and Jasmine. She enchanted everyone across the globe with her ready smile, a relentless willingness to learn, and endless capacity to share her gifts with others.
Cancer was a beast to Jolayne, but it never slowed her down. She constantly found a positive side to a challenge and found God's grace in every step.
Jolayne is survived by her husband, Greg Tweedie; six children; father, Gail Myers; two sisters, Janelle Mackenzie and Judi Ringuette; and three young grandchildren, James, Daniel and Adanna. She is predeceased by her mother, Barbara Myers.
Her courage, warmth and infectious laugh will be missed by all who were privileged to know her.
A Celebration of Jolaynes’ Life will be held on Friday, November 25, 2022 (afternoon) at Bow Valley Christian Church (5300 – 53 Avenue NW, Calgary, AB / bvcchurch.ca). Time to be confirmed.
