Obituary for John Kendryck Peartree
May 8, 1934 - April 23, 2021
John Peartree, beloved husband of Dorothy, passed away peacefully the afternoon of April 23, 2021 following a very short stay in the hospital, just short of his 87th birthday.
John was born in Loughton, Essex, England to Vera & Edward Peartree on May 8, 1934. After finishing school John spent time in Germany with the British Army. Upon his release, John attended Writtle College studying agriculture and animal husbandry. He then spent time following his passion farming in England, Virginia, Ontario and Alberta.
John was always trying something new and challenging his abilities. He attended SAIT, studying Business Administration and also completed the CGA Program while working full time. John enjoyed sports car rallying, coaching & refereeing his son’s soccer, as well as volunteering as treasurer for several community organizations. His dedication and willingness to attack any project will be greatly missed.
John will always be remembered for his eagerness to help, volunteering, caring for his grandchildren, and his friendly personality.
Together John & his wife, Dorothy shared many adventures visiting England, Europe, the United States and several Canadian provinces. His most favorite holiday spot was Oahu, Hawaiian Islands.
John is survived by his wife, Dorothy and children Robert (Kelsey Meyer) & former wife Sandra, Trevor (Kathryn), Leanne (Michael Hanson) & former husband Craig Scott, grandchildren Ethan Scott, Evan & Brady Peartree, Che Scott, Liam Peartree & step grandchild Rain Levy.
John’s family would like to thank the emergency staff at Foothills Hospital for their kindness and excellent care.
A private memorial will be held for the immediate family. A public service is not being planned.
