Obituary for Joan Olive Bayliss (Farley)
BAYLISS, Joan Olive
March 9, 1935 - March 19, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at the age of 88 years surrounded by her family at the South Health Campus.
Joan leaves behind those who will miss her dearly, her daughters, Kim (Doug Reid), Karen Webster (Brock), Kelly (Vince McMillan); son, Kurt Bayliss (Piper); grandchildren, Megan (Tony), Breanna (Derek), Michael (Sarah), Brittany (Brian), Leah (Brodie), Zachary, Travis (Destiny) and Brandin (Lindsay); fourteen great grandchildren; siblings, Sandra Rowsome, Gary Farley (Pat), Deborah Bolt, and Donna Zukiwski (Ken); as well as many other extended family and friends from the East Coast to the West Coast. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Noble after 54 years of marriage; her mother, Amy Farley; father, Garnet Farley; and her sister, Doreen Pepper.
She was a resident at the Swan Evergreen Village in the memory care unit for the past two years. Her infectious smile and cheerful demeanor made her such a joy to be around. She had a unique ability to brighten up any room she entered and could easily make everyone feel welcomed and appreciated. She was always polite and very complimentary to anyone she met. Her warmth, kindness and beautiful singing voice lit up the room.
A family gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate her beautiful life. Mothers hold their children's hands for awhile, but their hearts forever.
