Obituary for Janina Piotrowski (Gacá)
January 1926 - May 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Janina announce her passing on Wednesday May 6 2020 at the age of 94 years.
Janina was predeceased by her husband Czeslaw and her daughter Susanne.
She is lovingly remembered by her family Krys (Doug), Ed (Vivian), Ken (Charlene); grandchildren Jason (Tracy), Jamie (Megan), Vince (Sandra), Jodie (Joe), Joshua, Levi, Bridie, Curtis; Great grandchildren Emma, Matthew, Trinity, Tianna, Cole, Katie; and many family and friends.
Janina was born in Poland and immigrated to Canada in 1948. She met and married Czeslaw, the love of her life and raised their family in Calgary. She has given us glimpes of her life in Poland, bravely coming to Canada and stories of her time here. A time that was important to her was meeting the Pope in Rome while travelling with family. The latter time we spent trying to fill her bucket list with places she hadn't been to around Calgary, trips to Elbow Falls, Drumheller, Canmore, Water Valley, Carmangay; a day betting at the horse races, ride in an UTV, reptile party where she held snakes and lizards, boating/fishing day at Crawling Valley.
Special thank you to the Home Care Staff and Paliative Care nurses for taking such good care of her in her final weeks. Also Krys and Doug for providing such thoughtful care and a good safe home.
In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still, in our hearts you hold a place no one else could ever fill.
