Obituary for James Steven Soos

On November 30, 2020, James Steven Soos peacefully passed from his journey with cancer joining his wife, Bev Soos (Puddicombe). Jim will be dearly missed by his son, Colin Soos (Mary-Ann and grandsons Austin and Nate); and his daughter, Karmelle Johnston (Jeff Johnston and grandchildren, Hunter and Elle). Colin and Karmelle are very grateful to Marsha Soos, Margaret Jonasson and Donna Karaz for their very special prayers on Jim’s date of passing.

Jim was born in Winnipeg , Manitoba. He was raised in Langruth, Manitoba, and he carried on a mixed farming family business for a majority of his life although he demonstrated his diverse abilities with various careers throughout his lifetime. Jim literally adored each and every brother and sister being blessed with the most caring and loving siblings. He is is survived by his cherished sisters and brothers including Helen Karaz (late husband Joe), Ernie Soos (Cathy), Liz Roy(Louis), Marsha Soos (Ernie), Margaret Jonasson (Ralph), and Ronnie Soos. Jim will be met by his father, Louis; his mother, Elizabeth; and his brother, Frank. Jim leaves many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law behind that he held dearly in his heart.

Jim will be remembered for his love of his family. Jim embraced connecting with all of his family members including siblings, nephews, nieces, and in-laws. Jim was a loving husband to his wife, Bev, for forty-seven years and he was a kind, caring and proud father appreciating time with his children. Jim shared a very special and close bond with his son, Colin, travelling, fishing, hunting and endless other activities. Jim’s grandchildren will always remember their grandpa who loved to share laughter with them and who could never take enough pictures. Jim was always there for his family loving the ability to help in any way possible even if it meant pet sitting for his daughter. He loved making memories going fishing for hours with unmatched determination to someday catch a fish (preferring summer fishing over ice fishing of course), playing cards, family dinners, and hanging with family. Jim chose finding laughter in life appreciating the importance of humour and always welcoming a good joke. Jim’s very sweet soul will be missed, but we are grateful that he has peacefully returned to God. His family wishes him peace and the knowledge that he will forever be loved, missed and adored.
