James Allister “Daryl” Wevers
November 21, 1980 – October 23, 2022
Daryl Wevers, beloved husband of Kari Wevers, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, AB on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at the age of 41 years after a difficult journey with cancer.
Besides his loving wife, Kari, Daryl will be missed by his sons, James and Jackson; parents, John & Carole Wevers, brothers, Deric Wevers (Emma Kent) and Duane (Kim) Wevers; nephews, Hayden and Landen Wevers, as well as many other extended family and friends. Daryl was predeceased by his grandma, Nancy Shigehiro; grandpa, James Shigehiro; grandma, Wemeltje “Willy” Wevers; uncle, Mark Shigehiro; uncle, Brian Shigehiro as well as many other extended family.
Daryl was born in Lethbridge, AB and spend some time in Sherwood Park, AB growing up and then settled in Calgary, AB after high school. He enjoyed working as a cook in numerous restaurants, where he later met his loving wife, Kari in 2008. They started their family in 2015.
Daryl also became a journeyman electrician in 2012. He was well-liked by those whom he worked with. He enjoyed being an electrician because of the ever-evolving industry. Daryl loved sports and played hockey growing up, even into adulthood. He also played high school football. He was an Oilers and Eskimos fanatic. He loved spending time with family and watching his kids laugh and smile.
As per Daryl’s wishes, no Service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Daryl’s memory to Colorectal Cancer Research, Canadian Cancer Society.
