Obituary for Isabella Salerno

Mom had two principals which she lived by; to treat others better than they treat you, and that family is everything.

On Wednesday March 25, 2020 our beautiful mother took her last breath surrounded by family. Isabella (Ada) Salerno was born on September 23, 1933, in Cervicati Italy. Mom was a kind, loving soul who adored her family and always put them before herself. She enjoyed preparing the most delicious meals for her family, her home always filled with happiness and laughter. Mom is survived by Mario, her supportive husband of 65 years. Her daughters; Rafela Grossi, Anna (Louie) Delcorno, Rosie Salerno, and Diane (Wallace) Wells. Her adoring grandchildren; Lina (Dustin), Mario (Dorota), Marco, Phil (Kelli), Lucas, Nicholas (Lexus), Mike, Chris and Jake. Her precious great grandchildren; Emillia, Sofia, Matteo and Leo. She is survived by her siblings; Ilia (Roberto) Filippetto, Domenico (Esterina) Ruffo, Benito (Ilda) Ruffo, Lena (Mike) Salerno, her brother-in-law Virgilio Pace and her many nieces and nephews in Calgary, Italy and France.

Mom will be greeted in heaven by her father Vittorio, her mother Maria, her sister Mafalda her son-in-law Leo and many family and friends who preceded her.

Our family has been blessed to have the care of her physicians turned lifelong friends, C.R. and Elizabeth Thakkar.

We are thankful for Tony Caramignoli, her on call pharmacist, neighbour and friend.

Due to the current gathering restrictions, a private mausoleum committal will take place at Queen's Park Mausoleum. A celebration of mom's life will take place at a later date.
