Irma Welke Fech
September 28, 1932 – June 05, 2020
Irma’s daughters, Ingrid Galellis Poulin (Thomas Poulin) and Sylvia Fech-Mackenzie (Brent Wells) sadly announce the passing of their mother. Irma passed away peacefully at home with the support of her family on Friday, June 5, 2020.
Irma is survived by three grandchildren, Nicole Galellis Freeman (Paul Freeman), Julia Galellis (Allan Pickard) and Ryan Mackenzie (Michelle Mackenzie). She adored her six great grandchildren, Isabella, Asa, Fox, Avi, Oscar and Rosalie. She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin Fech, on November 10, 2006.
Irma was a skilled and creative homemaker designing and sewing family couture, baking exquisite tortes and pastries and tastefully decorating her beautiful home. She combined her homemaking with a career as a furrier, working for Saks Furs and Renfrew Furs for over 40 years. Irma and Edwin loved to dance. They were beautifully graceful and a joy to watch. Irma enjoyed travelling and did so often with her family or dear friend, Norma. Irma had faith in God and lived with the assurance that she was saved by Grace through Jesus Christ. She will be remembered and missed for her loving and intuitive guidance, her elegance, and her fierce devotion to her family.
