Ilse Friebe
April 15th, 1928 - Saturday, February 11th, 2023
Ilse Friebe passed away peacefully on February 11th. She was born in 1928, in Klempenow Germany, to Walter and Amanda Ziemann. Her family immigrated to Canada and she settled in Calgary after marrying Heinz Friebe in 1954. They were inseparable since then and had four children: Gerald, Harvey, Evelyn and Carolyn.
Ilse's life wasn't tied to the accomplishments of a Curriculum Vitae. It belonged to a much better circle, a circle of love - that she was the center of. It was a small circle that was almost always spilling over with little kids. It was a large circle, reaching out to her family, from sisters and brothers, to nieces, nephews and great grandchildren, where age or distance didn't matter. And it went past that to friends and neighbours too. Because that was who she was.
The Memorial for Ilse Friebe is scheduled for February 22, 2023 at The Bearspaw Campus of Center Street Church - 33 Damkar Court, Rockyview County, AB, T3L 0H4 - at 1:30pm in the Chapel on the second floor (not the main floor sanctuary). Those who are unable to attend the Service in person are invited to click on the Livestream Link and join us remotely in celebrating Ilse’s life.
There will be light refreshments after the ceremony.
