Harold Fleck beloved husband of Shirley Fleck of Calgary, AB passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at the Foothills Medical Hospital in Calgary, AB at the age of 75 years.
Besides his loving wife, Shirley, Harold will be missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter, Karen Baillie of Calgary, AB; grandson, Nathan Dale Wesley Baillie; son-in-law, Jason Spalding of Calgary, AB; his dogs, Rocky, Robbie and Ruby (Be Bop); his cherished sister, Darlene Friesen and brother-in-law, Ed Friesen; cousin, Ed Stang and his best friend, John Schultz; mother-in-law, Carrie Frey as well as numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. Harold was predeceased by his daughter, Annette Spalding; parents, John and Ida Fleck; sister, Gertrude Gibbard; brothers, Eugene and Allen Fleck; and nephew, Ken Frey.
Harold was married to his beloved wife, Shirley for 53 years. They were blessed with two wonderful daughters, Annette and Karen and cherished his only grandson, Nathan Baillie. Harold loved animals which led him to become a manager at a pet store for ten years. After that, he was a department Manager at Canadian Tire for 15 years. Harold was the happiest when the family would go camping to the Sibbald Flats area. He loved to hunt and fish with his family.
Harold was a true Calgarian to which he loved to watch every Calgary Flames and Stampeders game. One of Harold’s favorite memories was when they got to meet his favorite singer Charlie Pride on numerous occasions. Another memory was when his sister, Darlene took him to an Elvis Presley concert.
Harold was a self-taught craftsman to which he loved to spend hours at Karen and John’s house. A very special Thank You to Dr. Murray and all the nurses on Unit 82 Cardiac Care staff at the Foothills Medical Hospital. As well as Dr. Adrian Viljoen and staff at the V-medi spa for the last 30 years of care.
You can rest easy now my love until we meet again. I love you Hun Bun.
It was Harold’s last wish that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his wife, Shirley for Memorial expenses. A basket will be available at the Celebration. The family graciously declines flowers.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Harold Fleck, Annette Spalding and Allen Fleck on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at 8535 Bonaventure Drive SE, Calgary, AB (the Sierra’s of Heritage building).
