Elsie Dora Heide
November 15, 1939 – June 1, 2022
Elsie Dora Heide was born the third oldest of 17 children in Alonsa, Manitoba on November 15, 1939, to Tony and Dolly Fashoway. She left the farm in her late teens and worked in restaurants and factories in Winnipeg and Vancouver, where she met Peter Heide, husband and father of her two children, Peter Jr. and Stephanie.
Together the family moved to Calgary were Elsie pursued an apprenticeship in hairdressing and settled at Natural Concept Hairstyling in Village Square Mall for almost 30 years where she had generations of customers and friends. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, and sewing. Elsie loved to cook for and share meals with family and friends. She passed down some of those skills to her children.
Elsie leaves to mourn, her children, Peter (Heather Pearcey) and Stephanie (Colin Witt); grandchildren, Jessica, Cameron and William; siblings, Steffy, Olga, Fred, Irene, Tommy and Susie; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Elsie is predeceased by her ex-husband, Peter and siblings, Michael, Anne, Victoria, Nick, Stella, John, Joe, Eddie, Walter and Helen.
