Obituary for Elizabeth Kiss (Ferenczi)
Elizabeth Kiss
Aug 17, 1949- March 27, 2024
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden, but peaceful passing of Elizabeth on March 27, 2024 at the age of 74.
Elizabeth will be missed dearly by her daughter, Agnes Kiss (Wayne Barron); son, John Kiss (Elizabeth McLellan) and grandchildren, Emelia and Rose Kiss from Calgary. Elizabeth will also be lovingly remembered by her sister, Helen Ferenczi; nephew, George Malomsoky; aunts, Eva Szabo (residing in Hungary) and Ica (residing in Hungary); cousins, Ildiko (residing in Hungary), Edit Penszki (residing in Italy), and Louis Taylor (residing in India). She has countless relatives and friends in different parts of Canada, Hungary and Italy as well. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, John Kiss and sisters, Julia Ferenczi and Eva Ferenczi.
Elizabeth came to Canada in the late 1960's where she met her husband, John. Elizabeth continued to make her home in Calgary raising her daughter and son after the passing of her husband in the mid-eighties.
Elizabeth became a very independent woman, stubborn at times, but she loved her visits and time spent with her grandchildren Emelia and Rose. She loved her daily phone calls with her daughter, Agnes, and every so often, visits to Costco to complain about the damn high prices with her son, John. Elizabeth's interaction and helping individuals in her community and within her complex was a weekly event and will be sorely missed. She loved to have her daily walks with Myrtle and above all, working on her garden.
Those wishing to do so, may pay their respects at her viewing at Choice Memorial (105 -4715 13th Street NE, Calgary) on Wednesday April 3, 2024 from 6:30 to 8:30pm.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at Queen's Park Cemetery (3219 4th Street NW, Calgary) on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 1:30pm.
