Obituary for Edith Christiansen (Greenwald)
Edith Christiansen was born April 14, 1930, in Fusilier, Saskatchewan to Paulena and John Greenwald and passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 in the city of Castlegar, BC at the age of 92 years.
The family had a home and farm of their own near Battleford, Saskatchewan, close to 8 Mile Lake where the family of six girls and five boys would grow up. Everybody helped with the work on the farm. Edith was a physiotherapist and a nursing aid.
On January 24, 1959, Edith married Holgar Christiansen. They had two sons, Richard and Greg, and one granddaughter, Mischa (Steve). Edith had so much love and devotion for her family, many relatives, and many friends. They also housed quite a few boarders in the early days.
They were involved with many clubs and organizations. Edith was an excellent cook, having Christmas dinner with 20 plus guests. She had a great sense of humour and was always looking at the bright side of life. She loved horses, dogs, cats and had chickens and geese.
A Celebration of Edith’s Life will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Choice Memorial Rocky View Chapel (243256 Garden Road, Rocky View, AB).
