Donald Ross Newell
November 5th, 1951 - Sunday, September 13th, 2020
Donald Ross Newell, beloved husband of Barbara Newell, passed away at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre on September 13, 2020 at the age of 68. He was the loving father of Karen Thomson of Winnipeg and Laurie (Chris) Melanson of Winnipeg, and loving step-father to Ryan (Pam) Giesbrecht of Calgary and Michael (Brit) Giesbrecht of Calgary. Memories of Grandpa will be cherished by his grandchildren Aiden Gershuny, and Tyrus and Genet Thomson.
Don worked at CIBC for over 37 years before retirement. He was a dedicated family man and friend. He enjoyed 19 years of summer fun at Triple Diamond camp ground, was an avid golfer, and was fanatical about the Calgary Stampeders and Flames.
We would like to thank all the amazing doctors and nurses at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and at the Intensive Palliative Care unit that took such great care of Don and our entire family.
Due to Covid, we will not be having a celebration of life at this time.
