Dianne Klein died at home on Friday, 11 August 2023, at the age of 75 years. She will be dearly missed by her husband Paul, her daughter Nell, son-in-law Jason, son Max (Moni), granddaughters Heidi and Veda, grandsons Austin and Cole, sister Carolyn, and many other relatives and friends.
Dianne had a very fulfilled life. She was a professional musician, a high school math teacher, a university teacher of philosophy, a gourmet cook, a pioneer in Alberta home-schooling, and president of Kids First, an organization that advocates for attachment parenting.
Dianne was a wellspring of humanity's most-needed resources: kindness, intelligence, joy, and hope. She travelled light in life, only carried one thing, the question, "How can I help?" She was a warm, smiling person who loved to be with family and friends. Spread a little sunshine in her memory! Dianne would want you to go to a favorite restaurant, order a good bottle of wine, laugh with your people, and quietly leave a tip big enough that the waiter comes back to thank you.
Rather than flowers, Dianne has requested donations to the
Union of Concerned Scientists, a non-profit organization fighting for a safer and healthier world.
There will be a small celebration of her life for family and close friends, to be announced at a later date.
