Obituary for Daryn Mark Scott Cobb

Daryn Mark Scott Cobb
March 15, 1968 - February 13, 2024

Daryn Cobb, beloved husband of Deborah Cobb of Calgary, passed away at Southwood Hospice on Tuesday February 13, 2024, at the age of 55 years.

He was the loving father of Shannon (Adam) of Calgary, and Loryn (Justin) of High River. Daryn will be lovingly remembered by his brother, Stephen (Linda) Cobb; sisters-in-law, Claire Cobb and Julie (Mark) Foord numerous nephews and nieces, cousins, Alison, David and Beverly. He was predeceased by his father, Erling Cobb; his mother, Ann Cobb (Ratcliff); and brother, John Cobb.

He was born in Rochford, Essex, England. After leaving school at the age of 16, Daryn joined the Royal Mail, at that time he met his sweetheart Debbie whom he married June 1992, and had a happy nearly 40 years of marriage. Following the Royal Mail, he began a career in retail, and after being blessed with two daughters, Shannon and Loryn, decided to move his family to Calgary, AB. He continued his career in retail until he finally settled on one of his passions working in the car industry, where he went from selling cars to eventually training at various dealerships in Canada, the UK, and Australia, which turned out to be his dream job.

Daryn followed a multitude of sports such Hockey, Rugby, and Golf, but his true passion was the Liverpool Football Club (soccer), which he supported from about the age of four years old. His brothers both supported different teams, which would be comical to hear who was the best!

His greatest memory will always be sharing a birthday cake with Mohammed Ali for his 70th birthday. He had a saying “we are truly blessed, there is always somebody worse off,” and he proved this when he went on a mission to Guatemala twice, to make a difference in people's lives.

Donations instead of flowers are kindly requested to be made in Daryn’s memory to Pancreatic Cancer Canada.

A private family Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024. A Celebration of Daryn’s Life will be held later in the year.
