Obituary for Beverly Ann Myhr (Peterson)

Beverly Ann Myhr
1949 November 7 –2024 March 12

Beverly passed away at the Agape hospice, Calgary, AB, on March 12, 2024, at the age of 74 years. With all her strength & courage she did whatever was necessary to conquer pancreatic cancer for 1 and ¾ years.

While we experience a deep and profound sadness in our loss, we also rejoice with Bev that she is now in the presence of her LORD and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Bev - a loving and caring wife - leaves to mourn her husband, Neill, as well as her cherished & loving son, Kai. Cherishing the memories of Bev are eight brothers and sisters, Allen (Penny) and Leona, both of Ontario, Robert (Carol), Jim (Laura), Wayne (Evelyn), Frances, Connie (Earl) – all of Nova Scotia, and Judy (Paul) of South Carolina, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Bev was predeceased by her parents Frank & Hazel Peterson, as well as her sister, Brenda.

Born in Truro, Nova Scotia, and sixth of ten children, Bev attended a one-room schoolhouse in South Branch and then attended Brookfield High School. Bev went on to work with the Bank of Montreal and was transferred from Nova Scotia to Calgary in 1970. Her final employment was with Canada Post for 20 years, retiring in 2014.

Bev was soft-spoken with a sweet and gentle spirit and a great sense of humour. Bev took meticulous care baking hundreds of muffins and cookies to give to the homeless while volunteering with Monday Night Evangelism and Youth Unlimited. Always loving and caring, Bev also volunteered with HART and served guests with the hospitality team at Centre Street Church. She also loved to walk in the community, meeting neighbours… and always had a bag of treats in her pocket for her many dog 'friends’. Many will miss Beverly!

A Memorial Service in honor of Bev will be held at Centre Street Church, Monday, March 25, 2024 @ 2:00PM, Chapel A (Second Level). For those who are not able to attend, the service is expected to be livestreamed Here.

In lieu of flowers, those so desiring may give a memorial donation in Bev’s honor to HART (Humanitarian Aid Response Team - Ukraine support), or an Animal Shelter / Support of your choice.
