Obituary for Beatriz D. de Cordeiro (De Oliveira Diniz)
Beatriz went to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at the age of 93, in Calgary, AB.
Beatriz D. Oliveira Diniz de Cordeiro was born in Fenais da Luz, Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal on January 11, 1930.
She is survived by her dear daughter, Marta Cordeiro; sisters, Aurelia (Herman, William and Aurelia) and Armenia (Les, Nicole, Scott and Natalie); brothers, John (Grace and Diana) and Dionisio (Eryka, Julian and Melissa); sisters-in-law, Trinka (Daniel and Juliana), Aldora and Fatima; brother-in-law, Daniel (Lidia, Delia, Miguel and Michael) and many dear friends.
She was predeceased by her dear husband of 57 years, Jose Cordeiro Da Costa Silva; father, Manuel Custodio; mother, Aldina Viveiros Pontes; sister, Esmeralda Oliveira; brother, Leonardo Pontes and nephews, Carlo and Patrick Pontes.
She married Jose, the love of her life, on October 9, 1949. In 1952 both of them moved to Caracas, Venezuela for a new life. After living in Venezuela for 27 years where their daughter, Marta was born and where they reaffirmed their faith with Jesus Christ, they decided to move to Canada in 1978 and decided to live in Calgary since 1979.
Beatriz loved to read the Bible and prayed every day. She was always looking forward to go to Church and being around her sisters and brothers in Christ. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking. In the summertime she loved to be in her garden and take care of her beautiful flowers. She had a green thumb. She was a "very Sweet Lady".
She will be greatly missed and always remembered by all who knew and loved her. Until we all meet again in Heaven.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Choice Memorial (105, 4715-13 Street NE, Calgary, AB).
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 11:00 am at Choice Memorial Rocky View Chapel (243256 Garden Road, Rocky View, AB) with a Graveside Service to follow at the Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery. Pastor Dave Di Sabatino officiating.
