Bernard Mathias Walz
April 20, 1925 - March 3, 2018

Bernie, our Father, Grandfather, Great-grandfather, Uncle, and Friend passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the age of 92.

Bernie was born in Marysbourg, Saskatchewan and was raised on the family farm. At age 15 he went to the West Coast to support the war effort. After that adventure he moved to Humboldt, Saskatchewan where he met the love of his life Emma, and they were married in 1950.

Together, they raised three children, Barbara, Patricia and Robert.

As his children, we are not sure which Dad loved more—the open skies where he could
“Poke holes in the clouds” with his beloved Cessna aircraft or “On the road again” where miles of highway stretched for him to discover in his big wheel trucks. Either way, Dad enjoyed life to the fullest.

Bernie was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Emma.He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name Parish (2223 34 Street SW) on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 11:00 am.
