Obituary for Vivian Leona Mary Stinert

Vivian Leona Mary Stinert
July 24, 1940 - April 2, 2018

Vivian Leona Mary Stinert (nee Thompson/Watson), of Okotoks/High River, Alberta, passed away on Monday, April 2, in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 77.

Vivian was born to parents Gilbert and Edith Thompson on July 24, 1940 in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan and soon after, Gilbert moved the family to Calgary to work for the Calgary School Board. Vivian grew up in Calgary and married Earl Watson in 1959. They moved to the Millarville area where he was a Ranch Manager and at that time, they had two sons Randy and Ronny.

Vivian lived the rest of her life in the Foothills area, her passion was to travel and golf. Vivian had many amazing holidays which included Europe, Egypt, Greece, Central America, the United States and Mexico. She enjoyed various forms of vacations from relaxing on the beach to boarding cruises. Vivian loved savoring the amazing foods and exploring the many wonders of our amazing world.
Vivian was a member of AA for the past 34 years, and her desire to help people was demonstrated as it showed in the time, dedication, sponsorships, friendships and the love she gave and received from everyone in the AA program.

Vivian is survived by her two sons Randy and Ron (Sherry); her five grandchildren Chad, Calyn (Yolanda), Cole, Laine and Dayna (Shawn); her sisters Alta (Terry) Gaiefsky of California and Donna (Robert) Toole of Kelowna British Columbia; and her close friend/travel companion for over 30 years, Dave Clark of Okotoks, Alberta. She was predeceased by her parents Gilbert and Edith, and her brother Milton.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held 1:30 pm, Thursday April 12, 2018, at the Christ Church, Millarville . The family wishes to thank all friends for their love and support. Donations in lieu of flowers are gratefully accepted by The Mustard Seed (102 - 11th Avenue SE, Calgary, Alberta, T2G 0X5).
