Obituary for Mick Theodore Perdue

PERDUE, Mickey Theodore
Mickey Theodore Perdue of Calgary AB passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the age of 85. He was predeceased by his brother, Jasper; grandson, Jeremy and more recently by his loving wife of 64 years, Valene. Mick is survived and lovingly remembered by his sons, Leonard (Deb) and Lloyd; his granddaughters, Rebecca (David) and Kira (Jeremy) and great grandchildren, Dallas, Mickey, Liam, Carys, James, Jasper, Tierney and Piper.

Born in Edmonton on January 21, 1933, Mick was raised on his family farm in Halcourt, AB until 1952 when his family decided to move to California in search of warmer weather. They ended up as far as Calgary. It was here that he met the love of his life, Valene and they were married in 1954.

After working in construction jobs away from home for much of his time he became an active volunteer for the Montgomery fire department and worked for the City of Calgary. Starting off with Electric light and finishing his Career with them as the Supervisor of Dispatch Operations in the Fire Depart/Alarms Division.

After retirement, he worked by Valene’s side until her retirement at Pacific Linens.

A Committal Service will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Mountain View Cemetery. A Celebration of Mickey’s Life will follow at 2:30 pm at Choice Memorial, #105, 4715 – 13 Street NE, Calgary, AB.
