Nakoneshny, Maurice “Mo”
May 6th, 1946 - December 7th, 2018
Mo Nakoneshny passed away suddenly on Friday, December 7th, 2018 at the age of 72. Mo was one of nine children born to Margaret and Steven of Lanigan, SK. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Gordie; sisters, Carol and Diane; and nephew, Jeff. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; son, Steven (Maggie); daughters, Krista, Shannon and Stephanie (Dragan); grandsons, Tanner and Robert; and granddaughters, Avery, Emma and Fiona. Mo was a true Roughriders fan. He was the President of Lobo Resources and was highly respected as a successful consultant to the oil and gas sector for 40 years. Mo and Jeanne retired to San Felipe, Mexico for nine years where they devoted themselves to working with the San Felipe Animal Shelter before returning to Cochrane to be closer to family. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the ICU Unit at the Peter Lougheed Hospital for the outstanding care and compassion that they gave to Maurice and his family.
A Celebration of Mo’s Life will be held in the new year. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mo may be made to the Cochrane Humane Society, 61 Griffin Industrial Point, Cochrane, AB, T4C 0A3 or at www.cochranehumane.ca
