Joan Conzemius
April 28, 1947 – September 20, 2018

Joan Conzemius (nee Boisvert) of Calgary passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on September 20, 2018 after a courageous battle against cancer.

Joan was born April 28, 1947 in Kindersley, Saskatchewan and grew up in nearby Marengo, with her larger-than-life family. She graduated nursing school. After traveling and marrying her love Mike, Joan settled down in Calgary to raise her three daughters.

Joan enjoyed cooking meals, especially for her family during the holidays. She loved to read and crochet baby blankets for her grandchildren, great nieces and nephews. Her laugh and spirit filled the room wherever she went.

Joan will be forever cherished as the best wife, mom, grandma, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 47 years Mike; loving daughters Dana Tucker (Kevin), Nichole Turner (Phil) and Carrie Hooper (Craig); and grandchildren she adored, Christopher, Sydney, Andrew, Vaughn and Norah. Joan is also survived by her caring siblings Gail (Bill) Kovitch, Ray Boisvert (fiancé Brenda), Dan (Lori) Boisvert, Cheryl (Rod) Thomson, Janice (Phil) Ketcheson, and Gerald (Connie) Boisvert. Joan will forever be remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. She is predeceased by her parents Cora and Guy Boisvert, sister-in-law Lynn Boisvert and sister Donna Evans.

Her family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and staff at the Peter Lougheed (Unit 29) for their excellent care and attention in Joan’s final days. A Celebration of Joan’s Life will be planned for a future date. In lieu of flowers donations can be dedicated in Joan’s name to the Cancer Society of Canada.
