Obituary for David Allen Laberee

David Allen Laberee
David Laberee
December 17th, 1949 - Wednesday, August 15th, 2018

David is lovingly remembered by his wife Rae; daughters Sarah Brazeau (Marc) and Erin Lee (David); brother Arthur; sister Letitia; and grandchildren Lucas, Justin, Megan, Shane, Jade, and Mason.

He was lovingly called Dad and Papa by many others far beyond his children and grandchildren. He always had enough room in his heart for everyone and welcomed them into his large extended family.

David was a man of many talents! These included home renovations, building playhouses and swing sets, and finding people their “just right” homes. He was always sneaking in extra treats when the grandkids needed them, including McDonalds, donuts, and especially ice cream.

David was a loyal Calgary Stampeders fan and was always proud to show off his red and white colors. If it was game day you know where he could be found – cheering on the Stamps from his season ticket seats or at home watching the away games.

He will be remembered for all the small and extra special efforts he put into life. He was always the person up at 4 am to ensure the family and visiting guests had the best seats for the Stampede Parade, or making sure that all the children in his life received a knock on the door from Santa on Christmas Eve to make sure the Christmas spirit came alive!

Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at the Edgemont Community Association (33 Edgevalley Circle NW, Calgary) on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 2:00 pm. We would like to invite you to share a story or special memory during the service. In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund
