Bonnie, Logan and Mason:
The Kelly Family sends our heartfelt condolences to you all.
I/we have known Mike for nearly 20 years and that has been one of life's great privileges.
Mike's thoughtfulness led to some conversations and experiences that we will look back upon for the rest of our lives.
Monica and I are also raising two daughters and we always looked to the Peters Family as a group to look up to. Mike was the quintessential "Cool Dad" and was quick to share his wisdom and experiences:
"You want to make sure your kid's friends think your house is the super-fun place to visit...", he said..
"For example, when you are hosting a sleep-over, make sure all of the attendees follow the 2 rules of a Peters-Sleep-over:
1. Stay up as late as humanly possible
2. Have as much fun as you possibly can..."
This is advice was pure genius and another example of Mike's positive, influential outlook on life and his kind nature.
Mike was also one of the most generous people we have ever known. If someone had a project happening where he saw passion and purpose, he would leap in to assist as a true friend, without asking for anything in return.
Mike gave me a suit to get married-in (out of his own closet, no-charge, but don't tell Larry Rosen ;) ... and was similarly generous to countless people, countless times.
A selfless ally, he gave his time without hesitation.
When I had the opportunity to race for a pro-team a few years ago, Mike immediatley offered to help build a press-kit...and then took on all of the creative direction...as a natural leader would do. I will attach a few pictures of the photo shoots he directed...which turned into one of the funniest adventures I've ever had. I mean, who else could rock a double-breasted suit, standing beside a tire-barrier at a race track like Mike Peters??!! No one! :)
Examples of Mike's creativeness, charisma, drive and vision are all around us. A quick search for Mike on YouTube will yield a wealth of treasures for us to see, on demand. Forever.
He will be deeply missed.
Always,
Fraser, Monica, Peyton and Bronwen Kelly
