Obituary for Wayne Allen Heth

Wayne Allen Heth
HETH, Wayne Allen
May 8, 1947 to January 30, 2018

With profound sadness we share that Wayne passed away suddenly, of heart failure, on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. Wayne will be deeply missed by his cherished wife, Lou Ellyn, and his beloved children Geoffrey (Janel) Heth; Jillene (Sean) Zimmer of Calgary. His loving grandchildren will miss having Grandpa at their side: Madellyn Heth, Zachariah Heth, Halle Heth, Rylie Heth; Ethan DaSilva and Emily DaSilva; Chelsea Zimmer, Layton Zimmer, and Haley Zimmer all of Calgary. Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Alice Heth; and his brothers Donald (Marlene) Heth and Bryan Heth. Also mourning the loss of Wayne are his siblings Larry Heth, Galen Heth, Howard (Bev) Heth, Melvyn Heth, and Linda (David) Galloway; his in-laws Glenn (Pat) Lee, Lorne (Deb) Lee and Lauri (Bud) Brunner; his great grand-daughters, Jayda and Olivia; and various nieces and nephews.

Wayne was born in Eastend, Saskatchewan and later moved to a farm in the community of Centreville (near Sylvan Lake), Alberta. He attended the University of Alberta graduating in 1969 with his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. His first job as a professional engineer was with Amoco Canada Petroleum Company Ltd., where he spent 30 years advancing through various positions and retiring in 1998. All those who worked with him recognized that he was a gifted leader and manager. After his retirement, Wayne used his business acumen volunteering for many years with the Christian and Missionary Alliance--Western Canadian District where he served many churches and helped them continue to expand the Kingdom of God. He loved his work with the churches, and aided them in strengthening communities all over Alberta.

Many who knew Wayne will miss his generous spirit, profound dedication and love for his family, and his commitment to excellence. Wayne has gone home to be with his Heavenly Father whom he served, faithfully, for his entire adult life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes are gratefully accepted by Samaritan’s Purse at: “samaritanspurse.ca” or Defend Dignity at: “defenddignity.ca”.

It would be a great gift to the family if you could submit some photos and stories of Wayne at www.choicememorial.com.

The celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at RockPointe Church--Bearspaw (255024 Lochend Road, Calgary) on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Public viewing will be held from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm.
