Rae Johnson of Calgary passed away peacefully with his sister by his side, at the age of 64. He is survived by his two children Tara (Matt) of Didsbury and Daniel Johnson of Calgary; five grandchildren; and his sister Linda Fifield of Calgary. Rae was predeceased by his wife Charlotte; parents Eddie and Robbie; and his brother Danny. He was a member of the Ironworkers Local 725 since 1978. Rae always had a love for horses, he followed the rodeo circuit in his younger years and later became a thoroughbred trainer for the Calgary Stampede and Edmonton Northlands. Rae and his family spent many days riding in the back country. A Celebration of Rae’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Choice Memorial (105 – 4715 13 Street NE, Calgary). In lieu of flowers, donations in Rae’s name are gratefully accepted by the Rosedale Hospice (http://www.hospicecalgary.ca/page/donate).
