Obituary for Lello (Leo) Virgilio Grossi

Lello (Leo) Virgilio Grossi
Leo (Lello) Grossi
September 30, 1947- December 13, 2017
Husband, Father, Brother, Nonno and Friend

Reliability, honour, respect and love for family: these are all qualities that Leo not only held in high esteem, but lived every day during his life.

He was a quiet and easy-going man, who could never resist the opportunity to have a laugh with friends and loved ones given half the chance. He had a warmth and love for life that was contagious. Many started as his friends, but quickly became family.

His greatest legacy was his love for his family. His wife Rafela, his children Lina and Dustin; Phillip and Kelli, and most importantly his grandchildren Matteo and Leo. He also leaves behind his mother Lina and his brother Roger (Shelley) Grossi, as well as his in-laws Mario and Isabella Salerno. During his battle, his strongest cheerleaders were his sisters and brother in-laws, and his many nephews and nieces.

He fought a long and hard battle and did it with dignity and grace. His battle would not have been as glorious without the help of Dr. Morris, Dr. Sam and their entire staff at the Tom Baker. We also want to express our gratitude to the staff at the Southwood Hospice, who took such good care of him in his final months.

Memorial Service will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (10827 24 Street SW) on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Leo may be made to a charity of choice. To view and share photos, condolences and stories of Leo, please visit www.choicememorial.com.

His battle might be over, but we won by just knowing him. Raise a glass to the good times, as it would be the only way Leo would want us to remember him by.

Arrangements entrusted to the care of Choice Memorial Cremation & Funeral Services (403) 277-7343.
