Obituary for Dale Walter Cote

Cote, Dale Walter
October 27, 1940 - August 23, 2017

A Celebration of Life for Dale will be held on October 28, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at the Milo Community Hall in Milo, Alberta. Please come prepared to share memories and smiles.

Dale Cote of Milo, Alberta, received his promotion to the side of his Lord on August 23, 2017, on the anniversary of his good friend Ward Willard's death. Dale’s youth was spent with his parents, Cecil and Clara (nee Nelson) Cote and his siblings on their farm near Carseland. In his early twenties, he began working for Ole Willard near Milo and remained there. An avid outdoorsman, Dale knew every bug, bird, plant and animal, and was extremely well read. He trained thoroughbred racehorses for many years for the Willard’s. He climbed mountains in Peru, Ecuador, Pakistan, Mexico, and more. Rock and ice climbing were also his passions. Dale was very creative and artistic as a child and throughout his life, with probably his most practical creation being his floating posts. His most artistic one would be his magnificent Orchid Tree. (Google – The Orchid Tree by Dale Cote).

He is survived by his sister Diane Cote of Calgary, his brother George (Nina) of Redwood Meadows, and brother Jim (Brenda) of Carseland. Also, his adopted family of Marsha, Sharon, Jess and Liberty Willard and the Schiffner families of Scott (Stephanie), Willard, Derrick (Meggin), Mark (Amy) and their combined 12 children.

As Candace Villette said, “Perhaps God is wanting to redesign His Pearly Gates…He certainly has the right man for the job now!”
