Obituary for Jacob Musarurwa Mungoshi

Jacob Musarurwa Mungoshi “Gwirigwijo” or “VachiNheve”
May 21, 1953 – May 8, 2017

Jacob Mungoshi passed away on Monday, May 8, 2017 at the age of 63. Jacob was born in Chivhu, Zimbabwe to Sekuru Luke Bhunu Mungoshi and Ambuya Lucia.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Zambia on October 22, 1977, and then graduated with a Masters of Economics from the University of East Anglia on January 11th, 1980. Jacob worked as the Planning Manager in the 1980’s to 1990’s at Air Zimbabwe. He was the Chief Economist at The City of Harare from 1998 to 2000 and then was a Social and Economic Development Advocate with the Zimbabwe Council of Churches from 2000 to 2002. Jacob was a Commissionaire and Security Professional with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires, and also worked in Supply Chain Management as well as other adventures.

Jacob had several entrepreneurial interests including Makombi Operations – Marondera Route. Rank – 1st street and 4th street, Manhize Minerals Inc. and Southern Alberta Grains.

He will be forever loved and remembered by his wife Constance Jesta Hazvinei Mungoshi; children Rudo Sekai Mungoshi (Nkosi Mpofu), Chiratidzo Kudakwashe Mungoshi (Michael Sovereign), Wandai Lucia Mungoshi, Chamunorwa Yemurai David Mungoshi, and Penelope Tanatsa Mungoshi; and grandchild Thandeka Ruth Mpofu.

Funeral Service will be held at Choice Memorial (105-4715 13th Street NE) on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 2:00 pm.
